A simplified and efficient video and image converter
Permute is piece of software that allows you to batch-convert your video and/or image files into different file types/formats. Using a drag-and-drop system, you may convert files or modify a file’s custom presets. The app doesn’t allow you to change a file’s video settings, it only converts the raw information into another file type. You may select a batch of files to convert, and if one or more is already the desired file type, then the file is copied over rather than the app wasting time re-converting it. Permute does have a simple interface, but the developers have added a little style, and the GUI feels very finished. They have not made the same error as other video converter programs where the interface looks like it is two steps away from regressing into an MS DOS screen.
You are paying for a finished and polished product
There are other video and image converters on the Internet, and many of them are free, but they often have poor quality interfaces and settings. Permute is a well developed, polished and finished tool, and that is why you have to pay for it. The developers have also created a one-stop tool where you may convert your files from just about any file format into just about any other video or image format. For example, you do not have to use a difference tool for AVI and another tool for MP4, and so on. It is a pity you have to pay for Permute, but it may be worth the money if it saves you downloading numerous free apps to manage your file conversions.
